Ok so, twice a year the company I work for takes on around 2 new starters per workplace (I’m being vague about the type of company for a reason). There is probably 1 man to every 6 women company wide (it is more equal when you get to CEOs and directors and office managers).

Last year I tried to refer my Male cousin for a job, he has experience as a supervisor and generally presents himself as hard working and committed. I was told at that point that there wouldn’t be much point referring him, as they wouldn’t be taking on any males as they have a higher % of turnover (leaving).

I was amazed by this, I have heard on the grapevine that this has been openly discussed in board meetings (which I have no access to) and I’m now getting thoroughly pissed off as I’m now expected to train a middle aged, overweight woman in a demanding and physical job, while another fit, driven young man was turned down for the job despite excelling in trials and interviews. That’s not to mention this woman has a second job and can only work restricted hours.

How can I expose this with evidence to back myself up? My own directors and CEOs are part of the problem so I have no hope there.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
