I'm using an alt-account because i don't want my identity to be traced back in any way possible.

Coming from a rather opressive conservative culture, i used to support liberalism and feminism, full throttle. I was and still am an atheist today and i support every individual rights due to every left leaning materials and writings that i've read and influenced my development as a person.

But ever since a few years back i kinda see that there's a change in the left narrative. If back then we (or they, i refuse to be associated with the far left ever again) were trying to balance and correct things out, these days i feel like feminism has became the devil in a new disguise. But i always brushed it off and think it's just a boogeyman made by the neo-nazis to drive people into their cause.

At least until today.

I was in a discord chat of one subreddit that one might say left leaning. We were discussing about a media artist whose association with a publishing company was recently killed due to his history of sexual harassment.

I'm a big fan of fact checking, so i dig into his history and read everything i could find.

I ended up being so disgusted at that person (before, i kinda think he's kinda cool) especially since he actively spread the idea and the culture where women were objectified.

So i stated what i think about him in the discord chat. That i'm disgusted by his actions and moreso, disgusted by normalizing an obectifying culture.

I also clearly draw the line between those who willingly offer sexual favours to boost their career and those who are lied to and clearly taken advantage of.

But somehow, my words were twisted and used against me. Somehow, just because i think it is not right to give sexual favour to advance one's career (and even worse is the man who normalizes that practice), i'm blaming the victim. Somehow, just because of semantics, i'm a mysogynist who slut shame the victim of a rape (in which again, i clearly draw the line and have no symphathy against such sexual predator).

I stated over and over again that i don't defend and actually am disgusted by the objectification of women and even more disgusted by the fact that someone tries to normalize that.

But words were put into my mouth, words i never even remotely say. Over and over again. Even after i said that's not what i said and stating that there's a gaping chasm of differences between the line i clearly made in the conversation multiple times already, i am still considered defending a sexual harasser.

I tried to personally talk to everyone who thinks i'm defending a sexual harasser and yet all of them said the same thing. They don't want to hear me talk again.

So that kinda serves as a wake up call to me. That radicalism, no matter which spectrum you're leaning into, will never be good. Because personally, this kind of opressive radical feminist behaviour is just as bad as opeessive radical religious behaviour.

I mean, to be fair, no alt right person ever put words in my mouth and dismiss any explanation that was given to them.

And suddenly, just suddenly (i don't know if i will still feel the same or not tomorrow lol), donald trump's words regarding left media making up fake news seems so logical and make sense for the first time.
