I'm a dad, and I need to vent for just a minute.

I've got a new baby on the way, and I've been shopping for baby supplies again. In my shopping experience, all I ever see is references to Mom's wanting/needing the best products, and moms this, moms that, moms only, never dad's. I've got to say this is quite frustrating being an active father who spends more than 50-60% of the time caring for his children. I could easily argue that I am the "primary" caregiver other than breastfeeding. I am with our children more hours per day 5 days a week. I feed them, bathe them, brush their teeth, put them to bed, etc etc. Yet companies consistently and explicitly leave father's out of the equation in advertising and product design.

I've written to a couple of companies when previous children were being shopped for, but it's been years and I still see no change. It's enough to make me buy from lesser reviewed brands if they at least stay neutral in their ads, and I have and will let them know this.

Thanks for reading my little rant. That is all. I feel better now :)
