Sex-selective abortions must be banned, since they do serious harm to society.

There are some parts of the world where the ratio among young people is 60% male and 40% female. And what's the result? Women are treated like a valuable prize to be competed for by men. Traditional gender roles have been re-established, as women will choose only the men who will provide for them and allow her the role of a housewife, instead of her needing to have a career. Gender equality is impossible in a situation like this.

And then there's the issue of a full 1/3 of all young men having no hope in ever finding a mate. This is a pretty terrible situation for them... and so is the solution that some of them have started resorting to - the growing market of imported sex slaves.

Yes, it will be difficult to enforce, but it still has to be illegal to begin with. Figuring out more effective ways to enforce it could come later. If it comes to it, doctors could be disallowed from telling parents the gender of their unborn child.
