Don't expect marriage to rectify that poor behavior, it will only get worse once the laws and govt are on her side. Do all 3 of you a favor and don't marry.

So my ex wife never cooked but once a month. She could do Sheppard’s Pie and Lasagna. Now she was a neat person and kept the place clean but wouldn’t cook. So I would cook. Always. Half the time I would say dinners ready and I put hers on a plate only to announce she wasn’t hungry. About 90 minutes later she would get a bag of chips.

Drive me nuts. Her mother would try to get her to cook but she was too lazy. Got her lessons and she never went

Whatever you do, do not post in r/relationships you will most likely be the bad guy and probably what on yadda yadda yadda, enter extreme feminist schtick.

I've posted something similar under a throw away and was mocked and harassed for 3 weeks.

I was working 7 days 12h shifts 4 days off 5 12h over nights 5 days off, paid her way through online college paid all bills I never got any dinner after work house was a disaster, I would return from a 12 hour shift cook clean, put the kids to bed, I was vilified by her friends for wanting some rest.

I'd suggest you open a 2nd bank account save up and be prepared for the worst.

I can't see this getting any better, shes treating you like a slave with a bank account and she is going to push to see how much you're going to let her get away with. Maybe cancel your internet to get her attention.

A friend who went through the same situation, was a high salary earner. He had to do dishes and even clean toilet once he is back home and told the whole drama in anguished, shameful voice to us close friends. Only justification his wife gave was an over energetic child.

The whole thing was affecting his work, morals, etc.

Told him to never talk this to anyone else, appoint a maid and some cautionary general attitudes. So, he cut luxuaries at home on purpose even though he could afford it, appointed maid for 3hrs a day.

His wife sensed changes in his behavior after his visits with us :), even wanted him to take 'permission' before visiting friends. Dude currently openly tells her he is going out for a visit and don't care an eff about her 'permission'. Still lot more way to go...

The doctor says she dosent. the babys healthy with no defects. So i have no idea what to do. Ive asked her to help and all she says is the baby takes all her time. Yet when im off my only day of the week i see that all she really dose is game.

The only thing to be careful of is make sure she isn't experiencing postpartum depression.

I can't tell, from the brief description above how long you have been living together. So if this is a change in her behavior then you may want to look into it. I wouldn't bring it up to her, give her an excuse, in case she isn't. If she is, get her some help.

If it isn't postpartum depression, and is just female entitlement syndrome, then I'm all for what others have stated, run away from this one like your ass is on fire, and don't marry her.

This is tough. It's very difficult doing things by yourself when there's an abled body in the house unwilling to lift a finger. I don't know what communication tactics you've tried, but sticking to the "I feel ___ when you ____ because _____" tends to work. Like stick to the issue or event and how it makes you feel to find resolve. That way it avoids the finger point, nit pick bullshit. Id try to figure out if there's a valid reason for her laziness and lack of contribution. If there isn't one, idk, that's where you gotta soul search and do what's best for you. Make her a list, see if she'll get some things done that way. Present it like "I can take care of abc if you could help me out with xyz". Idk. People get complacent and justify their actions to avoid being wrong. As for her vilifying you to her friends, that's bs and you have no control over that, only how you act and react so keep it cool. Advice coming from single mother of two. I feel you. Good luck.

This might be an r/relationships type issue. Unless your child has special needs that occupy her whole day, I think you should consider a serious conversation about the division of labor in the household. It sounds like you are being used as a meal ticket.

Edit for additional thought: Is it possible she has postpartum depression? That changes the dynamic a bit and is worth investigating.
