Me and my brother were having a conversation about women in computer science. I told him im under the assumption that women should earn their way to the top like every one else, and grade inflation for women should not be done. He says however that to get more women into computer science, we should inflate their grades so they're more attracted to the field. I tried telling him that just creates really bad software developers since the women in question are being told that inferior work is as valid as the work that takes hours or even days by someone else. He thinks thought that its a good way to promote women in the field. This story came after i told him my teacher was unjustly inflating female grades to 100 percent labs, for programs that wouldnt run, while giving men lower grades for the same type of work. Any advice on how i can make a more sound argument?
