Why would anyone seek out a partner who is high maintenance? What’s the point?

The author is basically criticizing men for being lower maintenance, but this is actually an advantage for women.

I think the underlying tone is to promote hypergamy, it’s basically saying women should get to date up, but men should just accept women who are high maintenance.

I will fix the first sentence for them high maintenence refers to a woman who is a selfish asshole who places her wants ahead of other peoples needs.

Just a thought that I thought I would share here: That whole argument thingy about women have sex with who they want and men have sex with who they can is a double edged sword...just cause a guy fucks a girl doesn't mean that he is interested in her at all. Guys seek validation knowing that women are (read: used to be) choosy about whom they have sex with. Honestly I lost interest in sex once hook up culture took off. The fun was gone. The challenge wasn't there any more. Women are too easy.
