Michigan has several levels of "sexual assault", like first degree, second degree, third degree and fourth degree. First degree would be rape for sure. Technically, any minor having sex, consensual or not, is statutory rape, but prosecutors rarely prosecute if the 2 people are close in age. There are exceptions if one person is a "person of power", such as a coach, teacher, police officer, direct supervisor, etc. So a brand new 21yo teacher who has consensual sex with an 18yo student can be charged with rape.

CSC = Criminal Sexual Conduct.
First degree: basically sexual penetration.
Second degree: any other sexual contact.
Third and fourth degree: not sure of the differences. You can read the PDF.
Page 10-43: Anyone convicted of sexual assault is put on the sex offenders registry for life. The public information includes their full name, full address, description of their vehicle, brief summary of their convictions, description of their physical appearance, photograph.
Page 2-4: "A victim need not resist the actor." Also "A victim's testimony need not be corroborated in any CSC prosecution."

In California, rape is "forced sexual penetration (i.e, PIV), no matter how slight". Sexual assault is sodomy, forced oral copulation, foreign object penetration, and touching with the intent of arousal, gratification, or abuse.

Forced to perform sexual penetration or sodomy is not a crime, and I can find no evidence of a woman being charged with forcing another to perform cunnilingus unless its with a minor, even though it would be sexual assault. (So clearly, it's never happened in the entire state!)

Not sure on the particulars of it but in England and Wales (Scotland and Northern Ireland have different legal systems) sexual assault is anything up to rape, and then rape is penetration with digits, penises, objects and in any hole.

Women however, cannot legally rape. They can commit "assault by penetration" I think it's termed.

Essentially if you don't have a dick you aren't a rapist.
