It is a regular speaking point. I often ask what relevance people believe an issue has with mensrights - it is an absolutely valid question.

If your point of view is shut down because you can't think of any valid arguments regarding why it should be an issue men talk about, and an issue that men face, is it really a valid point?

You can't dismiss that outright. When someone posts an article about lesbians getting married, and I think I've seen at least one of those articles posted here during my stay, it's very legitimate to question why it was posted. This subreddit is meant to discuss issues relating to the MRM or its interests, and things that are not relevant can and should be questioned, if at the very least to get an idea of why the person posted it.

I think "Why is this here?" is always a fair question because it helps keep us on point and answering it can lend understanding to some of the less obvious men's rights issues that can crop up.

I look at it as a purposefully annoying reminder that just posting a link to an article without explaining yourself is bad form. OP should always try to point out what they took away from an article, and why they think other people should bother to read it. Also, sometimes stuff just has nothing to do with the MRM, it might be just women-bashing, or useless whining. You might call the people who ask what something has to do with the MRM trolls, but if you can't answer the question then you might be a troll.

I down vote this on sight. I've stopped myself from saying it on numerous occasions.

Sometimes they might be right, but it's rare. It's also a bullshit statement in general. There is a downvote system here. If you think something doesn't belong, downvote and move on. Let the sub decide for itself.
