I am in no way advocating violence towards women, or violence in general, but I noticed two different instances in which male entertainers were treated in a manner that was wholly different than their female counterparts.

I'll keep it brief and work backwards. Daniel Tosh, who always works in the blue, and borders disgusting made a rape joke, and was badgered into making an apology, even though it's pretty common in his routines.

Sarah Silverman, who is absolutely filthy(and I love her for it) did the same thing, the same night... and crickets.

Chris Brown, in Feburary of 2009, got into an argument with then-girlfriend Rihanna and beat her so badly that she required hospitalization. He had multiple court appearances, he's got probation, and a restraining order was put in place. Halfway through 2012, and he's still being vilified for it.

Back in 2009, Mary J Blige, an anti-domestic violence activist, punches her husband in the face repeatedly and then dares him to retaliate at her album release party, in public( and it's on camera )because she thought he was looking at someone else. Nothing happened. At all.

I'm not condoning any of them or praising anyone for their actions, just noting the discrepancy.
