Their opinions don't stand up against criticism. Same reason you'll get banned just for disagreeing.

Mods can hide the down vote button with CSS (that's how SRS prime and AMR reverse their vote buttons too), but the RES keyboard shortcuts still work, and you can turn off the custom stylesheet.

Groups like SRS habitually skew the popular opinion of the group by banning and silencing those who have alternative or dissenting opinions. Then they can look at the manufactured popular opinion and feed their own confirmation bias, thus avoiding introspection. Religions and certain political ideologies do this too.
