The rapid increase of incels started a little over a decade ago and has been going strong since.

Ultimately, there would have to be another side to this trend since having a high proportion of men cut off from sex and relationships (for whatever reason, whoever you want to fault) would have a downstream effect on women's options.

Of the top decile of men who are cleaning up, many have adopted psychopathic traits towards women since development of empathy is no longer a requirement for having their sexual needs met. They don't need to work towards relationship skills and meet women halfway. Somewhere, everywhere, are women happily entering into a casual sexual relationship with these guys while they wait for "the right one" to come along. Sometimes that happens, but that's becoming increasingly difficult as on one side of things men continue to drop out and on the other, men forego any pretense of romance or consideration.

In a sense, I can understand where these women are coming from because whenever they talk about men in the context of dating/relationships, you always need to add "that I desire".

Female hypergamy slams right into male polygamy. Variety is the spice of life.
