Why when a women tells a man she is pregnant, the man has less than a second to react or all hell breaks lose. When in contrast, the women often spends a week crying in the bathroom before even mentioning it.

I know it's a generalized exaggeration perpetuated by movies and the rest of popular media. But, it's often not far from real life.
