You know things are really screwed up when people buy the idea that affording opportunities to one sex but denying opportunities to the opposite sex is considered inclusive. Denying an entire sex an opportunity is by definition exclusive not inclusive.

They said this exclusion is based on gender identification. I hope people of the male sex who want this job simply claim they identify as female.

This action by a Melbourne city council is illegal, and shows a high level of arrogance and stupidity.

The provision they are relying on (Section 12 (1) of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010 (Vic)) is for situations that REQUIRE an empoyee of a particular race,sex or religion, for the job advertised; i.e. and aboriginal person for an aboriginal liasion position, a LGBTI person for an LGBTI counselling position, not just to balance the workforce or hire someone of a particular sexual orientation. This advertisement is clearly not looking for a specific kind of person, just excluding a a group the counsellors hate.

But then again, the city counsellors involved here are radical feminists from a woke inner city enclave, with extreme biases against straight men, and an entrench culture of misandry. They can use any excuse to get away with hating straight men, because everyone they know hates straight men.
