If we examine consent, one aspect is a person having the ability to consent. It's not regret sex. Regret sex is saying I wanted to have sex with them at the time, but realized the costs where not worth it. It's not reducing your inhibitions. It's saying one wanted to have sex with someone, but needed alcohol to have the courage to ask. Beer goggles is where one person would not have had sex with another, but they were too impaired by alcohol. Isn't that the current definition of rape; being too impaired to provide meaningful consent? If so, should we support that and push for recognition?
