IMO nobody deserves a day simply for being/identifying. If you did something of value (ie veterans day) sure, but not just cuz you exist or your community suffered in the past

Kinda late but I have a similar story, my music teacher, yes I said music, decided to teach a lesson about feminism and show us the movie of that rocket scientist who was a women, we where then supposed to write an essay about how we felt about it and why it was hard to be a women. Do not worry, that is deffinetly NOT what i wrote that essay about. She wasnt very fond of me for the rest of the year.
