I’ll start off by saying I’ve always picked the wrong women. I’ve been abused, both physically/mentally, and swatted (twice) by women. I’ve been to therapy to unwrap all of the stress surrounding the swatting and what I was going through at the time.

However, a few nights ago I was at my mother’s cooking dinner for us and I popped the wooden spoon I was using on the skillet. She flipped her lid about being “easy on her pans.” I’ve always been one to call someone on their bullshit, man or woman, and when I did she immediately went into victim mode.

“Well I’m sorry I’m not your perfect person.”

I couldn’t believe it, and all of the shit I’ve been through came crashing into perfect view. I’m sad to say it has taken 32 years, but I get it now. Stay safe out there guys; no one else is going to do it for you.
