-Overall, sexual assault offenders were most often men, acting alone and under the age of 35. Just over half of victims knew the person who sexually assaulted them.

This comment leads me to believe that men are being accused at a much higher rate then women simply due to the fact that men are supposed to make the first move. This would mean that when a male friend makes a move on a female friend. A portion will take it as assault and report there friends. Due to the fact that most men have to make the first move and women don't, men are more likely to be accused and convicted.

On top of that most males wouldn't consider it sexual assault when a female friend made a move toward them. I honestly feels that men are always risking sexual assault charges because men are "evil" and are required to make the first move.
