Does anybody else think we compare men to dogs too much?

In relationships, if a man is controlled by his wife we all laugh and call him 'whipped' or we say the woman 'has him trained' or 'on a leash'. If the man does something wrong and the woman wants to punish him we say he's "in the doghouse". Even gen z has their own version of this, if a boyfriend is good he has "golden retriever energy".

There's even been books written about "how to train a man like a dog" in romantic relationships, from what I know. This language sounds dehumanizing. I'm just curious if most men think it is too.
