A good friend of mine needs legal help for divorce & custody issues. Long story short, when he and his ex split two years ago, she moved with their two kids to Alaska, leaving him in the Midwest. They never got officially divorced as interstate issues prevented that. Fast forward to now, he just upended his whole life to move THERE (which he has been working for the last two years to be able to afford it), and she isn’t letting him see the kids on the schedule they agreed to, always making excuses. And just a few days ago she served him with divorce papers accusing him of domestic violence. She is a state employee and has connections in the system. He can’t afford the fees for a private attorney as he is starting over. He is a good man who loves being a father and would do anything for his kids. I thought perhaps y’all would have some connections to folks who can help this father retain his parental rights.
