"#MeToo is over if we don’t listen to ‘imperfect victims’ like Amber Heard"; Gross article denies Men can be victims of abuse & encourages people to never believe Men. Individuals such as this are why so many Men feel uncomfortable about opening up or seeking support.

If it takes this much pain & suffering for someone as wealthy/famous as Johnny Depp to get justice, imagine the amount of struggling the average man goes through in a False Accusation

Another striking observation Reeves makes is that, in addition to lagging behind girls in many ways, males seem to respond less well to efforts to help.

Is it males responding less well or is the "help" less beneficial for men and boys than it is for women and girls. There is very little evidence people in power care about how to help men.

Is it males responding less well or is the "help" less beneficial for men and boys than it is for women and girls.

That's actually the same thing just phrased differently. The second is the better one to go with though. It implies the problem is with something we can change, how we help, rather than something we can't, the boys themselves. The pushing vocational school idea in the article is a good one but I think it's just a bandaid solution for the problem. developing and implementing techniques for helping struggling boys should be done to replace the discrimination they face now.

He attributes boys’ poor school performance to the fact that human males mature a bit more slowly than females.

Bullshit. Everything in this article is absolutely because education is 109% geared toward girls only.

Look who controls education? Look who gets busted grading biased toward girls. Look how men are pushed out and straight up drugged for not acting like submissive girls in the classroom.

Hint: it’s the same ones who are 99% of rapists in schools.

This is just yet another example of man hating feminism.

And this idiot shill is just another feminist glove licker marketing his “boys are terrible” book. A fluff piece and love letter to man haters.

Somehow, in the entire thing, who is to blame? Why men of course, for being genetically and biologically inferior to the smart, wiser, and more mature gender.

Thank god they’re constantly on the pedestal 24/7 to breathe the rarified air of no boys. Boys are gross and have cooties apparently.

99% are women?

[–]ASexualSloth 9 points10 points11 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I think this is an unprovable claim, since so much abuse perpetrated by female teachers is likely not even reported.

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Thats what I was gonna say. Do I think the number is high? Yes. Higher than male teachers? Maybe since female on student abuse is usually dismissed/diminished. But not 99%

You might want to read the full article. There is quite a lot of good later in it. Like promoting vocational schools and supporting fathers raising their children. It's not the typical feminist crap although the guy is certainly left thinking.

[–]Salad-undressing 7 points8 points9 points 3 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

I did see men being pushed into slave labor positions. I stopped reading about there.

[–]KochiraJin 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

You think vocational schools lead to slave-like work?

[–]Salad-undressing 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

The writer and the feminists he butt kisses think men are only good to work in sewers as slave labor.

[–]KochiraJin 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

That doesn't answer my question. I asked about what you thought of the careers vocational schools provide not what feminists think.

You are a TwoX plant, aren't you? :-D

[–]KochiraJin 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

No, I just don't view the trades as slavery. Some of them make really good money.

So, the book has problems this article didn't mention, but overall this is the most intelligent parsing of Richard Reeve's book to date.

I'm not going to give kudos to Richard Reeves, but I will to Robert VerBruggen here. Well played. Compared to his fellow journalists and critics, VerBruggen did the best job of explaining this book for people who haven't heard of it by a country mile. He just went onto my list of names to watch.

Richard Reeves is making the rounds...

We've had many articles about his book in this sub already, so I don't really see a point in reiterating my take esp since there isn't anything new being presented here (compared to previous articles).

Never the less, thanks for posting OP and keep doing. I like to keep inventory and your effort helps greatly with this.

At least these kinds of stories/articles are starting to appear in mainstream media.

That's a plus.

Looong way to go...

If you have kids, send them to an all-male school, private if possible.

Public schools are indoctrination jails for kids.

[–]EvidencePlz 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Agreed. Boys are getting feminised in public schools these days and that's definitely not good for their mental and physical health and maturity.

[–]_BlueShark87 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Okay so what you could do in schools is make it so that in 1st grade or so, you take a test to see which grade you should be placed in. Same for the start of middle and high schools. This would make sure you can take whatever classes that are sufficiently challenging for you. Also then, people like me(every Asian male I’ve ever met) can maybe NOT get held back a year when I would probably be the smartest kid there. Intelligence varies person to person and holding them back because of their gender is wrong.
