It's not really worth it. It doesn't mean you need to be ashamed. It just means you need to deal with it, one way or another. I suppose you could try to stand up for yourself, but I don't think you'd be successful. Talking about the issues could help, but it won't change things overnight. I choose to avoid such situations.

I totally see where you're coming from but in a mens rights thread, a post advising men to avoid the possibility of being alone with other people's kids strikes me like telling womens rights group to avoid sexy clothes or they're probably going to get raped.

Women's groups should tell women to stop dressing like sluts and getting drunk and going back to guys' homes. But women's groups don't care about women - they care about the power that rape hysteria gives them. The power to do whatever the hell they want, without consequences, and to put men in prison on a whim.

The truth is that men's rights advocates actually do care about men, and so we're going to be honest with you, even if it isn't all sugar and spice and everything nice. Women's groups are anything but honest.

There are things you can do to stand up for men's rights. I just don't think putting yourself at such risk is a good way to go about it. You need not live in fear, but you do need to face reality. I would find it unwise to be alone around other people's children, as it's an unnecessary risk these days. It's not fair, but we're men - we don't have the luxury of being pitied as women are. We just have to deal with it. And make advances where we can. Soon it will all come crashing down, anyway.
