I am not sure if the title conveyed what I wanted to say but.... I just wanted to get this off my chest.

Lately, I am seeing lots of online posts where a mother openly says she prefers having daughters over sons and gets lost of praise via comments or likes

But when someone even remotely says "I love having a son" They get bombarded with stereotypes like "boy's mom" And stuff.

To give some particular examples, just few hours ago I was recently recommended a subreddit r/mommit on home page (idk y, I am more of geopolitics and memes guy) and curiosity got the best of me and I ended up browsing it for an hour. (Ik i should not have done that) and I saw lots of comments being heavily upvoted that said how they wanted daughters over sons. Meanwhile one of the comments where someone said how their son is very easy to handle compared to their neighbors daughter, they got bombard with comments saying how they just have low expectations from their sons and started accusing them of having "girls should be perfect" mentality

Ik that lots of these mothers has probably experienced some discrimination in thier childhoods by thier parents on the basis of thier genders (some likely misogynist) so that's why they act like this, but they are now taking it out on thier sons which is wrong (and what's even more wrong is that they are being promoted while doing it)

Few years ago, my mom said how she wanted a daughter but got me (she didn't said it in a bad way, but it just get stucked with me till today)

I just wanted to point out this wierd culture and thought this is the best place to post it. Sorry for grammer mistakes, english isn't my first language.
