I have been giving a lot of thought to why people some with someone during rape accusations. I will admit that while we do know false rape accusations happen they are statisticaly not the norm. Also I will.admit that by making a claim the accuser is also putting themselves at some inherent risk. For example Dr. Ford is still getting death threats. However my first reaction is always to side with the accused. Why?

The best answer I have is life experiences. While I have never been accused of rape I have had the cops called on me for taking my son to the park (multiple times). I was walking in a downtown area playing a game on my phone when all of a sudden a lady turned around and screamed at me for"following her". I honestly didn't even know she was in front of me. Last weekend I was at a bar sitting alone drinking a beer when a very drunk girl comes up.and starts talking to me. I am married and had no sexual interest in her, but she was super funny. So I talked for a bit. Until her friend came up.and slapped me and accused me of."taking advantage" of her. All of these things really hurt. I feel like as a less than attractive male I am constantly accused. When in reality my goal is to be left alone. I can't even complain about being treated this way. The last time I told someone about being treated like a creep at a bar I was asked what I did to make them feel this way. No one seems to believe I sit there alone and even generally try to stay away from the opposite sex. They assume I am doing something.

I was extremely liberal in my youth. Divorce court changed that fast. My ex cheated on me, took my son away, and now gets money from me. To pay someone that destroyed your family and stole your son when you did nothing wrong is terrible. No matter what anyone says it feels punitive. When I went looking for help. No one supported me. No groups to tell me my rights. When she wouldn't let me see my son the cops just said there was nothing they could do even with a court order. When I tried taking her to court they made me pay even her bills when she was at fault. My own family assumed I had cheated or was at fault. Friends couldn't believe "I" would walk out on my family all I ever wanted was to have a family.

So today I feel the need to stick up for men. I want to be on there some and give them the benefit of the doubt that I was never afforded. At least not cast judgement until a trial has been conducted. I think we are getting closer and closer to destroying race relations. As a relatively high up employee every female application I see looks like a potential accusation. I know most women would never do that, but just one would destroy my career and family with no proof. I don't want to see my boys get married. The consequences of a divorce are to bad to be worth it. I love my wife, but the risk analysis is just to high. I would never do it again.
