Point out that rape isn't a gendered issue. Most victims of rape are men, and further men are far less likely to report it because of the greater stigma around male rape.

One of the things that annoys me most with that article is this:

"I don’t know about you, but I don’t spend much of my life feeling vulnerable."

The fact is, he is a whole lot more vulnerable than any woman. Men are 2-3 times more likely to be victims of violent crime than women. The fact that he doesn't feel vulnerable has nothing to do with whether he is vulnerable.

"I’ve come to learn that women spend most of their social lives with ever-present, unavoidable feelings of vulnerability. Stop and think about that. Imagine always feeling like you could be at risk, like you were living with glass skin."

Yes. Truly horrific. Yet those fears are not based on objective reality so nothing he does will change those fears. Based on reality, he's the one who should be living in fear, yet he's not? How does he do that?

There is a significant variation in fear responses based in biology, which means that more women than men will most likely spend a lot of time being afraid, no matter how safe we make the world. But to stop living in fear, one cannot put ones trust in the external world dealing with the monsters under the bed, every human has to come to terms with that themselves. Empowerment, therapy, heck, even medication, find some way to deal with it, but you're not ever going to stop being afraid when you're creating the monsters in your mind.

On his bullet points: -Blaming the victim (“She asked for it!”)

Blaming the victim is wrong, but most of the things that get called 'victim blaming' is just suggestions on how to deal with reality and reduce risk. It's never the victims fault, but if you want to be as safe as you can be you need to minimize risk. For any thing you do in life.

·Trivializing sexual assault (“Boys will be boys!”)

Yeah, stop calling trivial things sexual assault.

·Sexually explicit jokes

Church is that way.

-Tolerance of sexual harassment

Actual sexual harassment is not acceptable, but again, things like 'donglegate' trivializes the concept.

-Inflating false rape report statistics

Yeah, I'd say all those false rape reports are what's inflating false rape report statistics. So yes, stop inflating them.

·Publicly scrutinizing a victim’s dress, mental state, motives, and history

Apart from possibly relevant parts such as motives and some forms of history, I'd actually agree on that.

-Gratuitous gendered violence in movies and television

Film criticism is a whole other topic.

·Defining “manhood” as dominant and sexually aggressive

Agreed on that one.

· Defining “womanhood” as submissive and sexually passive

Well, as soon as you call them bossy they get into a hissy fit. So, eh?

·Pressure on men to “score”

Agreed on that one.

·Pressure on women to not appear “cold”

There is?

·Assuming only promiscuous women get raped

Does anyone do that?

·Assuming that men don’t get raped or that only “weak” men get raped

Yeah, that would be part of feminism culture imo.

·Refusing to take rape accusations seriously

Well, that's one thing that feminism has ruined for me at least, these days I have to question the exact details to know if we're talking of rape or 'rape'.

·Teaching women to avoid getting raped instead of teaching men not to rape

Considering rapists are pretty slow learners if they're not getting the almost universal condemnation of rape, the only useful teaching that can be done is teaching men and women how to avoid risk. But hey, if you want to engage in more tilting at windmills, go ahead...

Given how I so can't be bothered to go through that crap point by point, I'll just suggest flipping the sexes and replacing "rape culture" with "false rape culture".

Or try flipping male/female with black/white and replace "rape culture" with "crime culture".

And no, it doesn't deserve anything more than that. Starting with blatant sexist stereotyping is pathetic.

The entire article hinges on the definition of rape culture as a society where rape is normalized. That is factually and demonstrably false. Hence, EVERYTHING that guy writes is utter bullshit. It has ZERO value. So there's your rebuttal. You don't need more than that. Really, you don't.
