According to Ms. Judd:

It is "unconscionable to breed."

The practice of fathers "giving away" their daughters at weddings is "a common vestige of male dominion over a woman’s reproductive status."

Christianity is bad because the religion is patriarchal and "legitimizes and seals male power."

She denounced "the ongoing practice of women giving up their last names in order to assume the name of their husband’s families, into which they have effectively been traded."

She also said that "throughout history, men have tried to control the means of reproduction, which means trying to control woman [sic]."

I liked that my dad gave me away at my wedding. It was sweet. It was him saying I love this woman she's my baby girl and I've protected and been there or her since the beginning, now I'm giving her to you so you can protect and be there for her. I think it's the sweetest thing.
