First bit of advice: Hire a (family law?) lawyer and tell them exactly what happened. Don't lie, don't fudge the truth, just tell it straight. They will make sure that you have everything taken care of including getting a paternity test done. Other than that, DO NOT SIGN ANY PAPERWORK FROM HER. DO NOT PUT YOUR NAME ON ANYTHING. DO NOT HOLD THE CHILD OR GO TO ITS BIRTH. Have nothing more to do with her without your lawyer present.

Seek the services of a family law lawyer immediately, or setup a retainer. It is much cheaper to pay the lawyer up front than child support for the next 21+ years, for a child that may not even be yours.

If the mother is refusing any pre-natal paternity testing then DO NOT PROVIDE any assistance, or you could be deemed the father by default.

Follow the advice of the gentlemen in the comments. Additionally, just as much as a women can use a court to order a paternity test, you very much have the right to order one as well, especially if the woman is chasing you for child support. As previously stated, do not under any circumstances provide financial support or sign any birthing documents until the paternity test results have met with your eyes.

I just went through a very similar thing, I got the results back today and the child is mine (Horray Parental rights). The one thing that you can do is wait. Once that child is born request a paternaty test, over here in the UK they cost about £50. If she refuses there isn't really much you can do, as everyone else says though, don't sign anything, wait until there is no doubt in your mind either way. If your name isn't on that birth certificate you don't have to pay her a penny. I would agree partly with Sir_Derpsworth, in the sense of not signing anything, but not holding the child? And not being at the birth is drastic, all be it the most disgusting thing you'll ever watch.

I think the real question is, do you want to have a child. Think long and hard about this, don't think about the childs mother at all, think about the child itself. I say this because I didn't want a child to begin with, and now, when I hold my son and he smiles at me or giggles I wouldn't change him for the world.

TL;DR Holding child is fine, signing stuff is bad, major life choices to make.

There is a new DNA test that can be done via the mother's blood. The pregnant women may not know about this new non invasive option. Providing a sample of her blood for the test should not be a huge problem if she "knows" you're the father.

However, most women only know about the very invasive amniocentesis DNA test. Because of the risks, I feel she would have the right to refuse an amniocentesis.

The pregnant women may not know about the blood dna test option. If the non invasive test is available in your area and you offer to cover the cost, she should not refuse the test. If she does, you should be cautious.
