A complete lack of faith in rehabilitation, coupled with the vilification of male criminals, and a hysterical overreaction based on "Feeling safe." I'm pretty sure if he hasn't done anything in 10 years, he isn't about to start.

I'm sure this will sure do a lot of convincing to women that they should report their assaults. It's not like permanently branding someone who they're quite likely to know as monster in the eyes of society is something very few people would have the stomach for, right?

I've said it before and i'll say it again. These people DO NOT CARE about women, about victims of sex crimes, or about ANYTHING other than feeling smug and holding power over others. They bluster and bully and their ideological cohorts in the media help them do it to the point where even large corporations are scared of these fascists.

What has this achieved, really? It's made a few people feel smug and like they've accomplished something. It's also driven yet another nail into the coffin of the idea of rehabilitation. Sending the message: Don't even bother not committing more sexual assaults, you're tainted forever. It's caused yet more people to view victims of assault or rape with mistrust, since there is now a clear political agenda behind making that up. It's caused a rift in yet another community.

This person was a threat to noone anymore, and we all know it. What he was was a socially acceptable target for harassment by idiots who don't understand that their brand of activism and their ideology is doing more harm to the cause of equality and sexual safety than good.

For some reason I don't think he would have been banned if he was a woman.

If he was truly guilty of sexual assault, I don't see the issue here. Why should we be defending him?
