If you want something pragmatic that men can actually understand, psychologist John gottman has written a book called the seven principles of successful marriage. It lays out behaviors which he observed, clinically, but sticking couples in an apartment and videotaping their interactions. He came with pragmatic rules that a guy can understand. For example, if people in a relationship exhibit the following behavior, the relationship is almost certainly to end. These are contempt, criticism, her startups, and Stonewalling.

Another book I recommend for all men to read is learned optimism. We are taught as men to be very self-critical. This very pragmatic book tells men to get their heads out of their ass and develop a locus of power. How you interpret the world and how people treat you is the key to living a decent life

I'd ask you, from a future catholic priest pov, what kind of gender roles will you be advocating to your future parishioners?

If you're going to advocate for "traditional" gender roles, you'll find that you'll bump into many walls, and rightfully so.
