The innocence project also has rape (and often the murders tied to them) as the #1 crime to exonerate by DNA.

By DNA - I assume is when the original DNA was missing, inconclusive, or wrong, and is only relevant when identifying a perp, so I assume this is stranger rape, blackouts or lies.

Be careful in custody disputes, often kids going for a weekend with dad get stressed, don't want to say anything to hurt them, and the mother takes her amatuer detective skills and wonders whats happening at dads house. A large number of these FAs are genuine mistaken beliefs due to kids being easy to inadvertantly manipulate.

We even had one where the kids were nervous about letting their secret out, stressed when dad came, the councellor got them to testify dad was molesting them, but after 2 1/2 years in jail the kids confessed to their mum it was actually the stepfather, who was the kids support person throughout the investigation.

Seriously, just search this sub or the news for "false accusation" and show her article after article until she relents. No one is studying this phenomenon, but there are literally countless cases reported in various news outlets.

You could also point out the fact that a number of high-profile rape accusations have been proven false in recent years. Here's a short list:

Brian Banks (NFL Player)

There are plenty more, I just can't recall them off the top of my head.

Here's the infamous Kanin study. The problem? The findings (41% of forcible rape claims are false) are highly implausible and the study has already been heavily debunked.

Rates of sexually aggressive behaviors among women vary from one segment of the United States to another, but the evidence presented here shows that as many as 7% of women self-report the use of physical force to obtain sex, 40% self-report sexual coercion, and over 50% self-report initiating sexual contact with a man while his judgment was impaired by drugs or alcohol (Anderson, 1998). Given these numbers, it is appropriate to conclude that women's sexual aggression now represents a usual or typical pattern (i.e., has become normal), within the limits of the data reviewed in this paper.
