On the subject: Zero tolerance policies make zero sense.

Seriously, Gou guys ( americans) are infatuated with guns. At least from an european perspective. And heck, there is nothing wrong with that.

But yea. Zero tolerance means that there is also zero compassion, or zero capacity gfor error, because stupid as fuck rules do not get make by moderately intelligent and compassionate parents.

In a district historically plagued by gang violence? Yea, I can understand that.

But you know what I would find more important? Teach those kids to repect each other. And yea, that may mean that you might get to suspend The members of the football team after they were caught gangraping girls, or you may be forced to deal with the reasons why teen pregnancy movies appeal so much to certain girls, but by all means, instead of taking away the last straw of hope somkeone at the bottom end has, how aboutr for once going after those at the top end?

And yea, I know why guys get called into thge entire thing more often.

Because, drumroll please, girls use groups and cliques.

If two guys have beef, unless someone is so popular that he has a clique that he has to show how he fights, the beef is between the two of them. If two girls have beef, the beef is by default between their cliques as well, because girls from the earliest age have been primed to "use their words"

But watch. Just as seldom as you will see a member of the schools football team get to face consequences for his actions, as seldom will you get to see an entire clique of girls suspended for bullying behavior.
