If insurance companies are allowed to discriminate and charge men higher by default just because of their gender because “they have data that proves it is true” then why do stuff like hiring laws and equal pay exist? If companies have data that proves one demographic is better at the job than another why can’t they do that?

Also, you legally have to have car insurance to drive. You cant just boycott it. But if you are being discriminated by your company you can go to a new one or unionize. Jumping insurance companies doesnt really do much either.

Also just a little double standard - if you google “why insurance companies CANT discriminate on gender” only articles come up for when women are being charged more. If you google why they CAN discriminate then its mostly men.
