It's certainly been known to happen. Is there a hostile environment against men? From a legal point of view I think if you encounter a hostile environment against men as part of this discussion you could file a sexual harassment complaint (against the community college - assuming it has any federal funding and you're in the USA) at which point "retaliation" against you (such as a poor grade) is automatically illegal also regardless of the merits of the complaint.

But if you know this teacher is sexist it's not worth the risk unless you want to file a complaint.

Do you have any sense of sexism from this teacher? I don't want to bias your view but you did bring it up. Most women in the USA (76%) are not feminists.

It might be worth mentioning that younger childless women are starting to make more than younger childless men.

First off if they bring up the wage gap, state "I have always heard about an earnings gap put out by the Department of Labour but never heard of a wage gap, please provide citation?" Now since the wage gap citation is really an earnings gap you can go from there if you choose. Second if they want to discuss gender inequality then how about discussing the only law in the U.S. that discrimates against men or anybody. The Selective Service act.
