I have always thought about this too. Why are only men expected to give flowers? Why can't we have the joy of receiving flowers from our loved one? Is it because men are generalized like all men are emotionless disposable jerks who are addicted to video games, football and sex?

Half of the population of the world is men. That is around 3,788,565,200 people. How the heck can you generalize the mindset of over 3 billion people and say all of them are the same?

Men crave for love as much as women do. So these stereotypes must be stopped.

Being the practical creatures we are, I think men's equivalent to receiving flowers should reflect that. I can't speak for anyone but myself, so I'll tell you that I'd sure as shit would take a new 14mm socket head that I keep losing or another memory card for my camera over flowers that die any day

Last night I heard a couple of women talking about how, now that one of them is engaged, they don't give each other flowers anymore. I asked* if that's a usual thing, for women to give each other flowers? I kind of got the impression that they were trying to normalize it. I thought of this thread, and asked if the engaged woman ever got flowers from her fiancé, and she said yes. Then I mentioned this thread (saying personally, I don't want flowers), and asked if she ever gave him flowers.

She still said yes.

It didn't surprise me, knowing them.

Just a quick +ve anecdote.

* The women in question are friends of mine, I didn't intrude on a strangers' conversation.

I get what ur saying but most men don't want to recieve flowers its universally seen as a femenine gift.
