I believe both male and female individuals should make their own decision regarding circumcision when they are legal adults and not have it forced upon them when they are infants.

There are by the way women who freely choose to have a hoodectomy, a type of female circumcision to increase sensitivity.

I mention that in reaction to those that claim female circumcision is always forced and always detrimental and claim male circumcision is always beneficial. That’s simply not true. There are both men and women who wish they were not circumcised, and there are men and women who feel it may benefit them, but this should be their choice, under their control as responsible adults IMO.

I mention both, because I believe both men and women deserve to make this decision as adults but of course circumcising infant males is far more common than females.

It should be allowed if a person so chooses it knowing full well the consequences of their actions. It is a life-changing thing and is not something we should force on children or their parents for that matter.

If you can only make decisions about your sex life once you are an adult, why should this be any different? It is something that will change your life substantially and it is sexual so why should it be any different than female circumcision or sexual consent?
