What? is that a reference to honor killings? because that also happens to men and in those countries gay men are killed lesbians are ignored(though potentially disowned/harmed/killed by family) so yeah. Lets talk about the WWII veteran generation who were charged with such, came back home, tossed into track housing and wished well. Maybe discuss NAM, where we were sent to fight in a war not predicated upon victory, protection, humanity, but body count, like a football game were the goal was to outscore the opponent in the time allotted...and we can move on to how we were shamed and blamed upon returning, how agent orange is no longer an issue to be discussed, because all those guys are dead now.

...and shit, we don't even have to go there, 20 American veterans are committing suicide every single day (reference, Veterans Administration), so they are dong it for us.

If we want to talk about socially implemented death tolls, it is like they are bringing a squirt gun to a nuke fight.

Yes, you can understand and say all that, you can argue all that, but as a veteran myself, you can just tell them to go fuck themselves.

Well, in practically every war, deserters have been lined up and shot regardless of what horrors they've seen and traumas they've faced. I'm pretty sure that counts as not living up to expectations.
