My main issue with the draft is... would this just end up functionally meaning women were drafted into the safer and less awful jobs because they're weaker and all men pushed to the frontlines? Seems men lose either way.

Pretty much. People forget that the military is made up of countless roles, not just direct combat ones. Medical, Signals, Cavalry, Electronic Warfare, Logistics, tonnes of different roles that don't require physical strength or stamina.

Especially true for modern wars. We don't fight in trenches anymore and anyone can handle a gun or a drone. I chuckled imaging all the white knights protecting the females instead of doing their duties. It would be a disaster. But I'd like to see pussy pass in action when a sniper is targeting her head 2 miles away!

It’s actually true that women are less physically less capable than men but the he draft is still stupid because there physical capacities aren’t THAT much different.

I think if they allow women into the military or police or fire departments or anything like that, they should be held to the EXACT same standards. If I’m trapped in a car after a crash and the first person to get there is a police officer idc if they are male or female. I just want them to get me out. But if that female got the job because she has more relaxed requirements that is complete bs. I also hate the idea of “we have to make places more diverse”. I would rather someone who is more qualified for a job to get said job. Not someone who isn’t as qualified but because they are Mexican and a woman they get the job. I see this shit everywhere and it’s honestly disgusting

Can I be a woman and comment here? Haha. About the case for women drafting. It seems, in large part, to be a counter-response to many of the complaints raised on this forum—women being so into the empowerment of their gender by putting down men in various ways and rejecting femininity. Like, "if you are so superior and capable and equal then you get on the draft too". But what about the many women who do not embody this trend and do value their femininity and the complementary role in relation to men in society that entails? (Not talking 1960s can't work and only raise babies at home—although there is nothing wrong with that.) But my point is while the choice should be there for women to join the military, and while women should still play a supportive useful role in time of war especially if most males were drafted, it is simply at conflict to a lot of other women's view of themselves and femininity. And for women who do have children/want children, to be drafted into war instead of being able to raise a family, would essentially deter procreation and raising healthy children. A world in which women reject feminine traits ("as an idea men have projected on them") and attitudes as a way of becoming empowered instead of embracing the incredible power of femininity and the value it provides in a different way than that of masculinity (but not superior nor inferior) , moving towards "we can be just as masculine as men" (maybe not in looks but attitudes) and dominate men on a societal level by becoming like men and saying we can do it better—thereby and quite ironically embodying the very attitudes of male superiority that women were seeking to reject and called toxic—with the eventual endpoint of women essentially becoming men (not physically but in societal roles and attitudes) to the point of being drafted in the military – that world is severely imbalanced.

So while women can have the choice not to want to be feminine or to change their gender because they identify with males or want to join the military and do whatever else that is "traditionally male" is completely fine, to enforce that onto every woman on a societal level by drafting everyone, I don't see that as a good idea and it forces the women who don't hold these views to essentially become them. While the nature of war has changed, true, why is it so bad for women not to be a part of it and be able to play a supportive and productive role in wartime in the way it always has been in wars for all of history, especially for the women who do in fact identify with this view of their gender role in society?
