The amount of people asserting that there wouldn't be a double standard if a man did that to a woman, is staggering.

Either that, or they're completely comfortable justifying the double standard by pointing out men are more predatory.

I also witnessed similar in an office I used to work in, it was a small group of middle aged women getting wet over a customer who they thought had a really sexy voice, really deep and manly and domineering, and they'd describe how they imagined he looked, even joked about cheating on their spouses with him if they had the chance.

Turns out he was a short fat balding old man... they lost interest, and he was never spoken of again.

If this was done in our office to a female customer or even a female co-worker the issue would be raised to HR already and the person doing this would get sacked. The person doing that would be labelled as a "pervert".

But because it's girls doing this to a male customer (or let's say a male co-worker) it's just going to be brushed off as something "normal".

One thing I learned in life, and this pretty much applies to any group, when people use these big blanket statements like "All men want is sex" or "women are just trying to fuck you over" that it's projection 9 times out of 10.

Women think men are these raging horn dogs who do nothing but judge women physically because most of the women they hang out with do just that, so they assume we must be worse with it.

Like, think of women so heavily judge men on looks today. Yet men are the ones statistically and research wise who are significantly more forgiving on looks and like a wider variety (you know exactly what data I am referring to here) where women are insanely picky rating 80% of men as BELOW average. But they will constantly say "men only care about looks". It's very broad blanket statement where the reality is women have gotten insanely looks heavy and men are very forgiving and flexible with looks they like. It's pure projection from a blanket statement. And data backs it up to a stupid degree.

I wish I hadn’t clicked through... So many of the people in that comment section are just so ignorant and hostel. They go so far as to call the guy some kinda weirdo, a potential political nut, or an “incel” for simply having concerns about a female coworker.

Maybe they’re right to an extent. I’d probably just shrug it off and move on mostly because that’s not the hill I wanna die on. However, when people react so harshly to someone reasonably voicing concerns, what exactly do they think that will accomplish? That’s the kinda stuff that leads to radicalization.

I used to work at a high school. There was a ripped police officer who worked there occasionally, and the 55 year old female educational assistants, we'll just call them bats, would start saying some of the most vile, raunchy things about what they wanted to do with him.

And then at one point, one of my female 12th years took a liking to me and would follow me around a bit too much. The bats started spreading a false rumor that I was dating this student. It almost got me fired.

The amount of pressure male educators and educational assistants were under was just insane. The slightest thing could get you fired. Even a rumor, that my co-workers started, was almost enough for me to get the boot. And yet when that one police officer would come in the same wrinkly, rotund bats would say downright pornographic things about him and no one batted an eye.
