Whether it’s a third party or direct allegation, the problem is: “These powers allow police and courts to intervene even when there is insufficient evidence for criminal charges.”

In other words, they are suspending due process and treating people as if guilty with no proof of guilt.

It’s scary how many countries are denying people (often men) due process rights all under the banner of protecting women. Denying basic rights is of course not protecting people, it’s quite the opposite.
