The first is The Stepfather.

A single mother suffering from NCU, is suckered by a really creepy dude, and refuses to listen to her eldest son, her childrens father, and even her own sister when they voice concerns about the guy. People die because of female gullibility. Just like in real life.

The second is The Road

A father and son struggle to survive in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. This movie has to be among the most boring post apocalyptic themed films i've ever seen, but when it comes to the examination of the father/son relationship, male bonding, camaraderie, and love the movie is the best i've ever seen. I teared up a bit at the end but it doesn't leave you without hope.
