You can intrinsically motivate women to show compassion to men. But when push comes to shove, they always prefer their own kind. Ingroup preference among women is 4.5x higher than among men.

That may be so but there is an inherent bias against men regardless. Women seem much more ready to shove under the proverbial rug that they can be mean to each other or worse.

As a man I feel as if I have prove myself every day but that could be personal. I don’t expect empathy, but over the years I have come to realize I shouldn’t be empathic to a stranger right off the bat like I used to.

A lot of people may suffer from complex ptsd without realizing it. This may make them people pleasers or highly suspicious of others like it did for me. Covert toxic people know how to feign empathy to get people to like them, which may give empathy a negative slant. Unless we can figure out who is more likely to be a narcissist or toxic person, we may end up in a much more hostile society than ever. This book seems to have an interesting take on it.
