I have been reading both femmit and MensRights for awhile. There are obviously separate issues, but there is also a lot of overlap, and I wonder why there isn't a larger gender-neutral gender equality movement.

One of the key issues on both sides is that society puts us in boxes and expects us to fullfil certain roles. (Sexual freedom, rape accusations, the glass ceiling, general behavioral and presentational stereotypes) Women have obviously made more progress in this area lately and have more freedom, but we are still far from equality on both sides.

The other key subject of debate I have seen is freedom of choice. (Abortion, birth control, custody, child support) For women that means whether or not to have a child. For men that means the role that they can have in their child's life.

What do you guys think? Obviously it is easier to relate to people who are affected by the same issues, but we all ultimately want a society that treats us as equal.
