I can relate to having to preemptively manage expectations based on stereotypes of you, although not as a black person. It gets you really in your own head, because then you're wondering if they're making an assumption, which can cause you to come across a little weird to the other person who then side-eyes you, and suddenly there's this whole subtext where nobody knows what anybody else really thinks or means.

Holy fuck...this applies to all men irrespective of race. This constant struggle to win the victimhood olympics is nauseating. Not everything in the world hits blacks harder.
