I recommend thinking. Books and such are unnecessary to someone who already wants to and can comprehend hidden parts of life. Explore, realize, contemplate, compare. When you encounter media or social interactions that are mundane, think if it goes deeper than it seems.

There is no training for one to learn compassion, you just gotta accept what's usually not exposed.

Read through this subs history. You'll hear peoples stories and frustrations. you'll see facts and surveys. Youll see valid arguments for mens rights. Youll see plenty of double standards that exist in society. Youll see and understand our concerns that unite us as a group. Youll see this question gets asked often.

Here are my recommended topics:

(1) Contemporary working-class Americans. Avoid rags-to-riches stories for they are designed to sell a scheme rather than exposing truths.

(2) Old school, pre-70s company culture when honor and camaraderie still reigned. A time when employers informally took care of their employees. And big corporations still didn't outsource jobs overseas. Think of "Mad Men" and "Death of a Salesman".

(3) The relationship between man and nature. "Into the Wild" is a must watch. You need to learn how to be less dependent on what's being offered on the table by treacherous hands and, instead, make your own bread. It's not about distancing yourself from society, but turning the tables when others are also confused and they'll eventually need you.

They're not specifically about men's rights, but like others have said, the key is to explore and experience the lives of others and contemplate what you can add to this world.
