So, you don't realize that any issues which the LGBT faces fall disproportionately on it's male members for largely the same reasons this sub exists?

For example, perhaps bullying based on homosexuality isn't a men's rights issue on the surface, but when 95% of those bullied are men, and they're being bullied for expressing their sexuality, or simply acting outside of the "man box", well... those are de facto men's rights issues.

Sure, gay marriage isn't really on topic, but a lot of other issues are; plus, at the end of the day, you're risking sounding like the feminists who ban trans individuals for not being "natural women", and alienating people is the last thing we need right now, kid.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but following logic, men's rights are about issues that face men in a legal or societal capacity. Now, last time I checked, gay rights are still a very heated issue. Men can be gay. Gay men are denied rights and freedoms to varying degrees even in the U.S. Therefore, the issues of gay men are not irrelevant to the MRM just because they're gay. It seems counterproductive to discriminate against gay men in a movement that aims to end all discrimination against all men.

/r/MensRights has always allowed issues which centre around the causes of gay men, since these are relevant and topical. This may include issues which are generic "gay issues", but of which gay men are more often involved.

As someone else said, intersectionality is one of the few good things to come out of feminism. Yes, our primary focus is on the rights of men. However, look at the ultra shitty time that gay men have in this world.

They are ostracized, beaten, and raped (there are many stories of straight bullies raping gay men) because they do not fit stereotypical male gender roles. They have very high suicide rates. In some areas, they are killed because of it, and in others, they may be discriminated against in public areas (MTF was not allowed to use women's shower room). Their partners are not able to receive benefits simply because they love the "wrong" gender. The emotional and psychological effects can be really awful.

Lesbians certainly have a lot of difficult problems of their own, but they are still GENERALLY accepted much more easily than gay men. Therefore, this issue is more gender-based than orientation-based.

Also, a lot of people here are gay, bi, lesbian, trans, pansexual, asexual, etc. We shouldn't be doing what feminists do to them, which is saying, "Yeah you have problems, but our problems are far more important. We'll get to you eventually. "

Most current gay rights issues are discrimination based on sex. For example, a woman (straight or lesbian) can marry a man but a man (straight or gay) cannot. That is discrimination on the basis of sex, not sexuality.
