This post is a bit hard to understand, but I'll see if I can respond in a way that works for what your points are.

- Some people assume that most men don't have difficulty dating relative to anyone else

(this is pretty much borne out by the data- about 82% of men are in a relationship as opposed to 86% of women iirc)

- some people claim that men are pretty much bad all around as partners

This is both subjective on a personal level and subjective in the sense that societal standards are themselves a moving target. It is on the one hand, sexist on the face of it, to assume that because some men are bad partners, therefore men are more likely to be bad partners and should be treated that way. And nobody deserves to be treated poorly because of a stereotype. On the other hand, it's possible for this to be statistically true or even personally true for someone (all their exes turned out to be shitty).

As controversial as what I'm about to say might be for some people, this is one of the reasons why feminist discourse about patriarchy is so important. It describes a power structure that encourages men to feel entitled to good treatment without giving it, and thus allows both men and women to see what cultural norms have led to this imbalance without blaming individual men for being the source of this (thus not treating men poorly because of a stereotype). It also thus gives men the opportunity to take responsibility for themselves and be the best partners they can be.

The implication is that the average male is a colossal piece of shit but women are pressured into relationships so much that they'll tolerate such massive pieces of shit (at least in the short term). Thus in theory both statements can be true without contradicting each other.

I think regular man can struggle with dating and those reasons can vary based on age/location/the individual/options/etc.

Most of the women who say that kind of stuff are younger or just plain dumb. It’s really annoying and frustrating and I hate that I kinda have to agree with the RP men on this one that women “reward” that behavior by overlooking it.

I see it all the time amongst my generation (Z). Girl cries and complains her bf doesn’t listen or care, neglects her feelings, only does things on his time, she has to basically beg him to be nice…and yet she stays with him and does everything he wants and more? If you tell her to leave him or ask why she is still with him, most likely she’ll either backtrack and hype him up or will accuse you of victim blaming her and not sympathizing.

And some of the guys women do date are TRASH but these women continue to put up with it because the guy is hot/exciting/rich/whatever. The bar is where you set it, stop fucking & dating men who treat you like shit. Or at the very least, stop complaining about it if you recognize the shitty treatment and chose to continue dealing with it.

Your two points don't contradict each other because the bare minimum for having in a relationship SHOULD be being a functional adult and pulling your weight in said relationship, which you can't necessarily tell if a man is doing just by seeing how he looks outside.

If a man's getting praised for cooking dinner, "babysitting" his kid, and/or scrubbing a toilet once in a while, that doesn't exactly speak well of how he acts on a daily basis. And that women feel the need to praise men who do even just that says how rare a man pulling their weight in a relationship is.

With that in mind, I'm not surprised so many women think this way. And more power to them if they'd rather stay single that deal with a man who is barely more capable than your average teenager.
