One of the anti suffragists points was women voting would give them to much control. They said “women control the morality of the country” and involving them in politics would muddy the waters. They thought having an apolitical group would be benefical to the country as a whole. As well women were applying pressure and getting rights passed without being able to vote themselves.

I disagree with their points, but think there is a grain of truth to it. Do you think that they had any valid points? Do you think that women control what is moral in the country? Do you think that combined with voting rights essentially gives women complete power over not only morality but law itself?

A lot of men argue here that no one cares what men say. Just find it funny even in a time where men ran everything they still conceded that womens opinions on things are what determined what is “right and wrong”. Even today it seems socially women still generally dictate societal expectations to a large degree.

Obv there are a lot of well documented drawbacks of women not being able to vote. This post is more to bring up how women seem to keep getting more power yet men get left behind. Ideally we should all be equal, but if that was true men would be able to have a say in morality. However society at large seems to keep bringing up “toxic maculinity” and how men are just evil.
