The name Neckbeard makes me think of someone forcing an underdeveloped aspect of himself to cop an identity.

The Red Pill community is a lot of young men debating how to hold a frame and "reprogram" from "feminized society".

From an outside perspective, it looks pretty much the same. I see the Red Pill community hamster that into Neckbeard being just another way of saying a guy isn't good enough, but I think it's actually just that everyone has a distaste having their perceptions played with. A 17 year old guy fluffing his facial hair trying to get people to react to him as a aged gentleman is pretty similar to a 40 year old bitter divorcee talking to a bunch of dudes on the internet to figure out how to get people to react to him as a confident, abundance-minded, alpha whatever. That's the cross-section.

Probably to proselytize. Which they shouldn't do, but I guess these guys are low-hanging fruits.

Neckbeard is basically "My adversary is fat , ugly , have no social skills and can't get laid". The last two tend to caracterize nerds (and the redpill idea of beta), so you can squeeze the accusation on the average internet dweller pretty easily. Pretty easy to call any opponent neckbeard , so it's used by both sides gratitiously.

White knight is not really a redpill term, even if the preferred term for the blue pill side is nice guy.

Because a large part of nerds have no social skills and can't get laid regularly, so they are attracted to PUA, which is basically "Flirting and escalation for people with poor social skills/emotional feedback". Redpill is largely a form of PUA, so it's logical to find a lot of former neckbeards/nerds here

Other times, the talk strays into the possibility that neckbeards are in a pre-redpill state. And that the redpill is simply neckbeards trying to improve themselves.

You may be describing recruiting behavior. For some reason people tend to gather where losers gather, or even where losers are talked about and discuss their own visions for these losers.

See this shit on r9k too. You got all sorts of predatory people, feminists, gays, other degenerates like the BDSM /sissies/scat people in there trying to get these guys to try their lifestyle out.

Fuck, you even have a motorcycle salesman in there.

Neckbeards are not innately pre-redpill (although some places they gather may be red-pill aware), they're pre-anything . They've literally got nothing better to do with their lives, they ain't getting pussy and their job prospects even for the most educated aren't looking good.

The neckbeards in real life are the blue pillers. The neckbeards who wear the fedoras, are nice guys, and are militant atheists are all feminists. Feminists have hijacked neckbeards to suit their own purpose, just like they hijack everything.

Is the redpill a refuge for bitter neckbeards? Or is it an evolutionary step towards something else?

Not sure what these questions are really asking. I get what the words mean, but I don't really know how to respond to them in any meaningful way. I'm really not sure what this whole post is about.

There might be a lot of redpillers in the r/neckbeard sub because they like making fun of them because they used to be that way, or they're currently that way and they have a lot of self-hate.
