Going to bars and seeing my buds and friends that are girls try to meet people has really only led me to one conclusion - people regardless of gender can be really mean.

However I feel that both genders seem to be mean in really different ways to an unfortunate courting individual.

Females: a buddy of mine is a good guy. Sweetheart, means well, always looking to have fun. A good friend. He has issues with the ladies; he’s 5’6, doesn’t have the best features, and is pretty nervous. He doesn’t like approaching girls, and I tried to wingman him one night and after I could really see why he never wanted to approach them.

While many girls were kind enough to let him down easy, “have a bf,” “not my type,” “I’m sorry not really interested,” all fair play rejections and really didn’t bother him. It wasn’t until I saw how some would just scowl at him, or laugh at him, or bait him for a drink.

Really sad abhorrent behavior. I can see why some girls gotta put on the mean face when a creep won’t let it up, but if an unattractive guy is shooting’ an honest shot let the homie down easy.

Males: we worse. At least the girls are playing aggressive defense, some dudes are playing aggressive offense. I do not know what would possess an individual to call a anyone fat without even knowing them but unfortunately it’s a scene I’ve seen far too many times.

A bigger girl, or unattractive girl can be targets for some real cruel guys. Just no reason to hurt another person especially one who you do not even know. It’s messed up.

Mean people have no color, gender, or country. They are everywhere. Next time you think a joke might score a laugh at the expense of someone else just know you’re not a savage you’re just mean & selfish.
