I do almost feel bad for those guys who wanted to be fathers though. Seems kind of cruel for them.

I mean yes and no. You can self improve and be happy. Lots of successful people have said that. Dwayne Johnson said that in his early 20s he didn’t got drafted to play American football or something like that and he was depressed and broke with only 7 dollars. He did have depression and didn’t know what to do, and well he obviously got into wrestling thanks to his dads help, which then lead him into acting. Or a better situation Robert Downey Jr drugs problems etc. After jail he met his wife and he left drugs for her. Or even internet influencers like David Goggins, Jocko Wilink. Some people will naturally be lucky in life and it’s true but you can’t just sit down and say “well I have bad luck might as well get fucked” it sounds very nihilistic you can fight for what you want dude doesn’t mean you are going to get it.

I think it's pretty spot on. You learn your baseline skillsets in highschool, I don't see why relationship skillsets would be any different.

My thoughts: I have empathy for those men who grew up in super shitty situations and had to figure how survive before they could even think about girls or etc. Some light redpill works for these men. They graduate.

The image is obv petite-bourgeoisie. The class politics are "in it to win it". I think it very much devalues the effort the normie & above-normie puts into it.

This is an Ode to the Bloop.

"Self-improvement" happens subconsciously all throughout your developmental years. Even if you're not consciously thinking about what's happening, your brain is working and taking in information. The idea that the conscious part of the brain rules the entire body is low IQ thought for people with control issues already. Whoever wrote that excerpt is pseudo-enlightened or just trying to sound "woke."

The only thing I can sort of agree with is that some people are overthinking their position and they should get out of the house and do it like they do on the discovery channel.

Yes but also no. I’m autistic and literally had no friends all throughout highschool, didn’t kiss until I was 23 and woe is me-ed about how easy and natural it was for everyone else. But then I glowed up in my early twenties (which took a lot of effort, years of research and trial and effort in skincare, years of eating right to get to a healthy weight, years of makeup practise, developed a sense of what hair and clothes looked good on me), started leaving my house regularly, showing up to social events even when I knew nobody, making small talk with college classmates etc.

Then friends just started to fall in my lap, there were people that actually wanted to get to know me and spend time with me! It felt like magic at first since I felt like I didn’t go out of my way to get to this point, but I actually did work. It’s just that I put myself out there so much and took a lot of social risks for a long time, that it became natural for me so it didn’t register to me as “effort” anymore which made people gravitate towards me.

And because I’ve gotten to know a lot of people beyond surface level, I’ve found that they had secret struggles too and also had to put a lot of effort into “being normal”. Which kind of shocked me because to me and most people they were “Stacie’s” and appeared so successful, confident, secure and everything seemed effortless to them.

So this poster who thinks that everything just falls into place for everyone only thinks this way because they don’t have deep enough friendships to see what’s going on beneath the surface: they are only seeing the image those “successful” people want to project and don’t realize how much self improvement work goes on behind closed doors.
